16″ Powder Day

Joel Gratz loves him some Steamboat Powdercats

This storm cycle continues to crush it for Colorado as reports look deep in most mountain locations.  Here on Buffalo Pass, we received a deep blast overnight with 16″ at our cabin’s snowstake.  Add this dumpage to the feet of snow we’ve received since this all started last Thursday and you know that it’s all good baby!

Today was a bit tricky though.  The snow came in with some wind so it was denser than yesterday and made for some interesting slabs and navigation for our groups and guides.  With that said, it was amazing for us to be out there lapping up some of the deepest snow that our guests have ever been in.

Along with our normal snow celebrities that visit us daily, today we had Joel Gratz up for a session in our Level III cat.  Joel’s been working like a wildman keeping us all up to date with his snow forecasting wizardry and we wanted to thank him with a bit of powder therapy.  If you haven’t already, please bookmark Opensnow.com  and keep the powder stoke going for Joel.
