A crew from our partners at Marmot came out today and guess what, it snowed! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. After a two week hiatus, Mother Nature kicked down at just the right time to get these Marmot and Backcountry.com executives in on some much needed powder therapy.
We’ve been working with Marmot as our jacket, pack and gear provider for now our 3rd season. Our guides sport the Marmot jackets (Troll Wall Jacket) in style and love the quality and durability that the jacket provides. Check it out on the Marmot website here.
With the snow returning to our lives, we will be running all week. For those interested, give us a call and get up here as the groups will be small and the skiing will be fine once again.

Here are some of the powder skiing videos that our guide Pete Scully has put together from our powder skiing trips this season. As you know, we offer a powder ski video service to our guests but this is as an additional service. Pete sometimes will take the camera out while he is guiding and then edits them down for us to show thru these powder skiing videos exactly how our trips are running.

It’s looking more and more like the annual thaw we get in Northern Colorado has set in for awhile.
Unlike last year where we already had a 114″ base and a series of every other day storms lined up, this year similar to most, we now have a 7-10 day heat wave and bluebird conditions scheduled over the next week.
So for all those powderhounds who are soon to be getting after it, here and elsewhere in Colorado, bring on the sunsreen and shades and don’t wear to many layers as it’s going to be hot.

It’s a pleasure doing what we do here at Steamboat Powdercats. We have it so good. The experience that is SPC is a daily reminder of how special life is and how fortunate we are to have our family of guests and guides enjoying the beautiful powder fields on Buffalo Pass.

It was the super fluff today. A bit of wind toasted it in certain areas but it was the cold that kept it light and dry and off the charts. This made for some of the lightest, dryest snow of the season.
We didn’t even really expect this storm so it was a gift from the powder gods.
