Oh how we love spring storms. Faceshots in March are cherished and todays were no different. After 2 days of pulsating weather, including thunder and lightning last night, we took out one group in the cats today, a 6 load of friends who have rallied together for 20 years. These super dudes made magic with Buffalo Pass and the experience was off the charts for them….and us.

We’ve been pretty spoiled this March. Lots of snow, great guests, no guide or cat issues and a ton of smiles.
Today was no different after the storm gave us 4-5″ up on the terrain and gave us mostly fine visibility, even some sucker holes for pure heaven type powder skiing.
Now, as we post this at 5:00pm, it’s dumping again here in Steamboat Springs. Only 2 more days left for us operating our cats on Buff this season. Kinda a melancholy mood here with the crew as we don’t really want it to end.
Whomever is on the books the next couple days, get ready as it’s going to be a blowout!

We got an invite to fly with Classic Lifeguard – Air Medical Service this week. They are a new medical heli that is located at our local Bob Adams Field airport. Cory the pilot and Anne the nurse took us on a 45-min flight to Buffalo Pass to check out our landing zones in case we have a major medical.
Not only did we get to touch and go at those spots but cruised the terrain and captured a new perspective of Buffalo Pass.
Flying in the heli got us all puckered as you can imagine.

We took up a 1/2 day kids cat today with our staff’s children. Ages from 12-5 were out there ripping up the powder and seeing what their parents do at work. The little rippers got after it in conditions that were mostly perfect for their skill levels. Snow wasn’t to deep so it was great for their little legs to plow thru the snow.
Best day of the season for those of us who got to get after it with these wonderful, little powder skiers.

We were inundated today by snowboarders – WHAT? Seriously? In a world of probably 20% snowboarders on average visiting us, it was an interesting take to see all snowboards in our cat racks.
Our friends and partners from Never Summer took up 2 of the cats and a 3rd cat was also full of rippers so not a single skier was here. This even prompted some of our guides to bring out the board and slice up the pow. We’ve been working with Never Summer now for the past 3 years and got to tell you, these board that NS are producing are outstanding. Colorado born and bred for the powder and perfect for what we do.
Never Summer hosted some of their handsome and hot staff and also some of their ticket to shred riders who won a golden ticket type promotion where anyone who purchased a Never Summer board was placed into a drawing and picked to come. Congrats to you guys!
Thanks for coming out guys and certainly we will see you again.
