Going to bed last night, we knew there was a chance of snow. All reports were pointing towards a combination of moisture and dropping temperatures. When the storm hit us around 5pm with a cold drizzle, it was game on with everything pointing towards our first snow report in the morning.
The storms that blew past us this weekend brought snow to most mountain locations in Colorado, except us. Even Cameron Pass, just one mountain range over saw snow where we didn’t. That storm was a bit of a Southwesterly flow, which as you know, doesn’t produce the best snow results for Steamboat and the Park Range, so it missed us.
This morning though things had shifted to a more westerly flow, temperatures dropped and the falling moisture finally turned to the white stuff that is so highly regarded in our world. Our first snow of the season!Continue Reading...
