5″ of fluff

IMG_9091Now that’s what we are talking about.  Love is in the air as this mind blowing snow we had today fills your heart with passion, excitement and adventure.

The 5 inches was of the pure, fluffy, grade A, epicness. Its that Fluffalo Pass kick down that we love so much.  This year has been a great one for this light, dry snow due to low winds during these snow events.  Let’s not jinx it but without wind, snowflakes don’t get damaged on their float down from space to earth. They land pure, unbroken and build up on one another just so that we can rip thru them and have them splash into our waist, neck and face  Oh my!

It’s was also an eventful day for a couple of guests as they celebrated their engagement with SPC.  Andrew did Elise say yes?

It may have only been 5 inches, but it felt like a foot or more with all the rooster tails flying. Felix, Cat B, was rockin’ with Adam’s tunes, the teens made us all feel younger or older depending on how you look at it, and our Swedish sisters added real class to our largely testosterone-driven group. And of course, there was Andrew and his secret proposal; he did seem a bit nervous on the trek, but what a sweet couple they will make. We were all well-matched in ability and stokedness, and our guides (Matt, Britt, and Scully) were incredibly accommodating and genuinely fun to be with. We could not have asked for a more perfect powder day in Steamboat with the best Cats in the business.

Elise and Andrew

SHE SAID YES! What an incredible day it was. The snow was amazing, every run was fun, and the weather was absolutely perfect. A big thank you for the advice and keeping the proposal a secret – Elise was very surprised. We can’t wait to come back and hope everyone has a great winter!
