We are proud to offer up a Steamboat Powdercats hosted skiing/riding adventure to Cerro Catedral in Bariloche, Argentina for the 2013 summer season.
This August 24 – Sept 7, 2013, Eric Deering and Kent Vertrees, managers at SPC, will be hosting a small group of SPC guests into the off-piste backcountry of one of South America’s most cherished powder stashes. This location not only has some of the best skiing in South America (think big alpine turns and nice trees for storming days), it’s also home to South America’s best microbrews, amazing scenery, wine and eateries.
There are two sessions (August 24-31 and August 31-September 7) or you can come the entire time!
This is not a snowcat skiing trip or mechanized adventure but a hike to backcountry experience requiring solid skiing ability and a high level of fitness. Due to the ski lift accessed, “hike to” nature of this off-piste terrain in Cerro Catedral, guests can expect to have hikes roughly 10-20 minuets long (or longer) before we drop into the goods. With that said, there is plenty of in-bounds terrain that we will take advantage of, but as you know, it’s the backcountry that we will be fired up for.
As far as ability levels, we need all our guests to be what we call strong Level II or III’s based on our ratings on our site. Have a look there again if you are unsure but most of you know where you fall in regards to ability levels.
Our partner in this adventure is SASS Global Travel (SGT) a US/Argentina travel company catering to backcountry skiing and riding adventures.
The expertise that SGT has in the local Cerro Catedral guiding world will blend well with all things Powdercats and provide our guests with a memorable, backcountry and cultural experience.
To assist with inquires, SGT has developed a specific page on their site for this package. Click here to review all the details regarding the 2012 Signature Session with Steamboat Powdercats. There is also an inquiry link at the bottom of the page that, if interested, we would like you fill out, thanks.
Please call Kent at 970-846-7933 or Eric at 970-819-1919 if you wish to discuss this in more detail.
