Many Friends on a Powder Day

SPC 12-29-2015 #2724There’s an old famous saying that goes a lil something like “no friends on a powder day.” We’re not sure why that became popular… because at Steamboat Powdercats, many friends on a powder day is the only way to roll.

The highlight of today was seeing complete strangers from every cat hi-fiving each other the same way we hi-five friends we’ve had for over 20 years. It was a nice reminder that if you are alone and you walk through the front doors at Steamboat Powdercats to check in for a day of powder skiing, you might not know it yet but the people around you are going to be some friends you will know for a long time.

Also, the “no friends on a powder day” wherever you go skiing, in the backcountry or at the ski area, is sooooooo lame as those friends of yours will save you if you are in a tree well, stuck in the snow or just fun to be around. It’s a blessing to have friends that watch after you, pay attention and wait for you at the bottom of a run.  There’s always good friends on a powder day that won’t leave you behind or call you if they can’t find you. Find these type of friends and you’ll be better off in the long run.

Check out the shots of the awesome friendships that Ben took today…here.
