Powder Impermanence

From the moment a snowflake lands on the surface of the snow, it immediately begins its journey back into a liquid water droplet. Before it gets there though, the wind, the sun and the ambient air have a lot of work to do.

Along a snowflake’s transformation, the sensation of skiing is constantly in flux. At any moment the skiing can change and this is why makes backcountry skiing so unique. The impermanent nature of skiing powder makes every turn and slash a special experience. So when the skiing is as good as it gets, make sure to enjoy every turn to its maximum fullest because soon all those snowflakes underneath your feet will transform into a river and be gone faster than you could expect it.
