Skiing the Rhythms of Nature

It’s been a few days since our last storm (7 days but who’s counting) and as it does, our approach to guiding in the backcountry has changed a little. Rather than the traditional lines and powder free for all we normally use during a storm cycle, we now get into a rhythm of sundial guiding and heading into the deep country to locate the best snow. When the sun is out, starting off on the north aspects in the morning then moving to the southern aspects around lunch tends to allow us to find the best conditions most every time during droughts like this.

Thanks to the Vail Mountain Club and the other cat of folks from all over the world who brought eclectic passions for skiing and riding today. As always, it was our pleasure and just love doing what we do.

See all shots from today here.
