Camp - 2008
|
The Steamboat Adaptive ski camp is coming to Steamboat again. For the 2008 season, this camp will be on Jan. 22. After the events that have occurred last year with the injury to our photographer, Dave Genchi, we are more than ever excited to help out our adaptive friends and get them deep in the powder.
Check out the press release from the Steamboat Ski Area regarding this seasons camp.
We have now been helping to host this camp for 2 season. Last year was very special to us after Dave's injury. Here are this images from last year: Image Gallery from 2007.
Here are the images and the movie from 2006 where Dave was our photographer and the movie he made:
Tues, 3.14.06
- After 7 days of storm, we've received 47" of new snow.
Today was blue bird and we had a very, very special day,
as we hosted the gang from Steamboat's first annual, Adaptive
Adventures All Mountain Ski Camp - 2006.

Sit skiers, mono and blind skiers,
lapped up the waist, or in this case the head deep powder. What
a truly amazing experience for us all and a fantastic ending for
all those who attended and helped out with the Camp.
Thanks to everyone who made it happen:
Craig
at Access Anything, Joel at Adaptive
Adventures, Linda who is an amazing adaptive ski coach, Billy
at the Steamboat
Meat and Seafood Company, our guides,
the helpers, Tigger, Hobbs, Felix and Calvin and last but not
least, Mother Nature for providing us a blue bird powder day at
exactly the right time.

Over the years, we've worked
with adaptive skiers, be it amputee, blind or sit skiers, in hopes
to extend the world of powder skiing with Steamboat Powdercats
to all those looking for the fresh, backcountry turn. We've hosted
events with the Breckenridge
Outdoor Education Center and now are working with Craig and
Andy at Access Anything based here in Ski Town USA - Steamboat
Springs, to bring this event to life.
