Here at Steamboat Powdercats we update our guests about recent news and events via our Powdercats Nation Newsletter. About 5 times a year we send out the newsletter to key you into what is happening here in Steamboat Springs and with Steamboat Powdercats.
Typical newsletters are a pre-Thanksgiving message, The State of the Powder Address sent mid season then a post season message. Come mid-June we’ll launch news regarding our upcoming booking season that typically starts in early July. As the new snow approaches we send out news regarding our Annual Powder Prediction Contest then follow it up when that first snow falls.

September 15, 2016 – Powder Prediction Contest officially launched – Bring on your predictions. Argentina trip recap and reservations galore.
August 9, 2016 – Argentina is a go – Fat Catting – Calendar – We have our 5-minimum for Argentina trip and who else wants to go? Mountain biking during the winter can happen. Calendar is launched and Powder Prediction Contest is ready for you.
June 14, 2016 – Argentina and Res Calendar Launch – Who want’s to go to Argentina with us in late August. Calendar is already filling up for 16/17 season.
April 28, 2016 – April – Thank you – Next Season – review of the Best Season Ever, how March 2016 was an amazing snow producer for us, a big thanks to all that came and how we plan on booking our trips for next season.
January 29, 2016 – 2016 State of the Powder Address – what a start to the season with 100-inch month’s in December and January. Oh yea, loving on Mother Nature and her first son El Nino this winter.
December 17, 2015 – First tour out for season and opt out of email campaigns – December 16th was our first tour of the season – woop woop! Also, cleaning up our email list so asking folks to opt out if they don’t wish to get emails anymore. New Mailchimp email software.
August 27, 2015 – Powder Prediction Contest Launch – It’s time to play the powder game again.
July 23, 2015 – Calendar Launch – August 1st we will open up the calendar for the 15/16 season.
February 20, 2015 – 2015 State of the Powder Address – Great early season of snow, so so in January, solid in February and who knows what will happen in March?
December 31, 2014 – Happy New Year – Stoked for the New Year.
September 10, 2014 – Powder Prediction Contest Launch – Reservations going and new reservation system.
June 18, 2014 – Launching our Calendar – Calendar opens on July 15th for the coming season.
September 9, 2013 – Powder Prediction Contest Launch – annual eblast for our Powder Prediction Contest
June 20, 2013 – Argentina Trip in August and July 1st Calendar Launch – Who’s coming with us to Argentina and bookings for next season explained.
April 19, 2013 – End of Season Eblast – An exclamation point on a fantastic season with highlights of 100 inch December and epic March 4th where 24 inches fell. Argentina anyone?
March 11, 2013 – 2013 State of the Powder Address – Epic powder during the 30th anniversary of Steamboat Powdercats. Introducing our Alpenglow Tour option.
November 26, 2012 – 2012 30th Season Sweepstakes – Party details – To commemorate our 30th anniversary season we are hosting a winter long Facebook sweepstakes and also throwing a 30th kickoff party.
August 29, 2012 – 2012 Argentina trip report – Powder Prediction – new hires – When will the first snow fall for the year? Alison had a baby! New hires. Argentina trip report and update with images. Initial 30th kickoff party and sweepstakes ideas.
July 3, 2012 – 30th Season Extravaganza – Argentina invite – Reservation launch update – 30th season exclusive early bird offer and reminder about opening of reservation calendar.
June 20th, 2012 – Reservation calendar opening – Argentina calling – Never Summer partnership – Launching the reservation calendar on July 2 for returning guests who want private cats for 12/13 season. We still have seats available for our Argentina trip. New relationship with Never Summer snowboards.
May 21, 2012 – Argentina Bound – 12/13 reservation calendar launch date set – In celebration of 30 years, we are organizing a summer ski adventure to Bariloche, Argentina. July 2nd is the launch date for the reservation system.
April 24, 2012 – Oh what a season it was(n’t) – Need more powder? – Big thanks to everyone’s patience this winter. If not for snow in late Jan-Feb (including huge days on Jan 21st and Presidents Day), the season was the driest in our 29 years of operation. Who wants to go skiing in Argentina?
February 14th, 2012 – 2012 State of the Powder Address – Finally some snow has arrived with major storms hammering Northwest Colorado. 26″ overnight! Extended season thru end of April and discounted rates in effect after March 19 – $350 seats and $3500 private cats. Come storm chasing with us this Spring.
November 3, 2011 – New Snowcat – New Snow – New Ski’s – New snow has arrived and predicted. La Nina reports. New snowcat and cabin video. New ski’s are here and old ones for sale. New website and Powder Prediction 11/12 update.
September 16, 2011 – Prediction Contest 11/12 – Bring on your predictions – When will the first snow fall for the 11/12 season? Sign up and possibly win a free day of cat skiing with Steamboat powdercats. Updates on our new snowcat and passenger cabin, our alliance with Armada Ski’s, reservation calendar and new guide for the season.
June 29th, 2011 – Deepest Snow Ever in Colorado – Our permitted terrain on Buffalo Pass reach an all time Colorado record in snowpack. It’s just another reason to know that Steamboat Powdercats is you reliable destination for powder skiing and riding. March 8, 2011 – 2011 State of the Powder Address – Epic powder season with deepest snow we’ve seen on ground at this time of year in over 2 decades. Fat Tuesday powder day. Thank you to all who visit us over and over again!

June 16, 2008 – Fathers Day Updates – Topics include a Father’s Day honey due list, booking procedures for the 08/09 season, a Dave Genchi update and the winter like conditions that hit us in the early part of summer 2008 here in Steamboat Springs.
March 31, 2008 – State of the Powder Address – 2008 – Topics include a review of our 2008 epic powder season (most snow ever!), a huge thank you to all of those guests who visited us and a reminder about our July 1st launch of the reservation calendar for next year’s booking procedures.
Nov. 14, 2007 – Preseason Hype – Project Walk Fundraiser for Dave Genchi – Topics include the hype for the 07/08 Steamboat Powdercats season and details about a fundraiser for Dave Genchi where an anonymous donor will match any monies collected for Dave’s continued efforts to recover from his spinal cord injury.
Sept. 25, 2007 – The first snow of a fresh and deep season has arrived – Topics include details about the powder prediction contest winner and our first snow for the 07/08 season.
Sept. 5, 2007 – Kick off video from Dave Genchi – Topics include links to the 07-08 kick off video that Dave Genchi designed for us, his first video that he built since his injury on Dec. 21, 2007.
July 24, 2007 – Summer ’07 News & Genchi Update Article – Topics include an update about Dave Genchi leaving Colorado, how to win a free trip for the 07/08 season and or reservation calendar launch.
Feb 27, 2007 – State of the Powder Address – 2007 – Genchi update and fund raising efforts. Topics include a review of the 07/08 season snowfall, especially the 24″ of snow that fell in 24-hours on Feb. 24th, a thank you to all who had contributed donations to Dave Genchi and updates about a Photographers for Genchi fundraiser and the Big Head Todd Concert fundraiser we planned for March 21st.
Dec. 29, 2006 – Sad days at Steamboat Powdercats – Dave Genchi injured – Topics include a full detail about Dave Genchi’s injury, our staff photographer, who was injured while skiing with us on Dec. 21st, 2007. Also, an explanation about how people can contribute to the Dave Genchi Recovery Fund that we set up for him.
Nov. 14, 2006 – The Storm surge begins – Topics include links to the Genchi movie that was built to launch our 06/07 season and details about the Steamboat Magazine article and cover shot by Genchi.
