March 31, 06 - Today is the last day of our
season here at Steamboat Powdercats. Kind of hard
to believe that 105 days have passed since we opened
our doors to an 8" powder day on Dec. 17th.
CHEERS
to the last day of the Season !! MOVIE>>>>
It's fitting they we've been hammered by another
storm and there is 8" or more on the terrain
fresh this morning, proof that Mother Nature was looking
after us, from opening to closing, with consistent
snow and the deepest snowpack in all of Colorado.
Thanks to all the guests and guides for making this
our best season ever. See you next year and look back
here occasionaly during the summer for updates and
'07 booking information (reservations will start Sept.
1st).
The sky was blue, the season was true, where
are you? See
you next season!

Hallelujah the snow is falling and the powder is
deep.
What a finale to our season with one last storm
to remind us that this was our best ever. Thank
you guests, snow and guides.

Adaptive Ski Camp
gets deep in the Powder with Steamboat Powdercats.
What a perfect bluebird
day with deep powder and great folks enjoying the
opportunity of a lifetime.
After
7 days of storm, we've received 47" of new
snow. Today was blue bird and we had a very,
very special day, as we hosted the gang from Steamboat's
first annual, Adaptive
Adventures All Mountain Ski Camp.

Sit
skiers, mono andblind skiers, lapped up the waist,
or in this case the head deep powder. What a truly
amazing experience for us all and a fantastic ending
for all those who attended and helped out with the
Camp.
Thanks to everyone who
made it happen: Craig
at Access Anything, Joel at Adaptive
Adventures, Linda who is an amazing adaptive
ski coach, Billy at the Steamboat
Meat and Seafood Company, our guides,
the helpers, Tigger, Hobbs, Felix and Calvin and
last but not least, Mother Nature for providing
us a blue bird powder day at exactly the right time.

Our seasons first encore
arrived in a big way today with 15" of premium
grade-A powder. Everyone in Steamboat is buzzing
about the super fluff
that fell. Only the Thanksgiving week of nipple
deep super cold, dry powder matches this depth and
lightness of powder (sub. 3% density).
See for yourself as our
crew enjoys the magic of Buffalo Pass and this amazing
snow (47" over the past week!).

Saturday,
March 11 - No new snow over night, but it was
thigh deep yesterday and cold so conditions should
be exactly the same.
There is space on our Level
II/III cat on Sunday, tomorrow!! We are guiding today
and out of the office so leave message and we will
get back to you around 5:00ish.
A sucker hole peaked out
on the crew yesterday and Genchi captured this over

March 9th - March Madness is on here in Steamboat
with another absolutely outstanding powder day. It's

You can only imagine the smiles and satisfaction
from the 36 fortunate guests and our 12 staff who
lapped it up in the 6" fresh today. Total of
16" in 3 days with more on the way. It snowed
all day long.

with another round of the white stuff (3" yesterday

Friday Feb. 10
|
Friday Feb 10 -
No new snow since we got 3 feet last weekend. Looks
like high pressure for a few more days (weather
report), so conditions are fresh and light, boot
depth powder on the North and East facing slopes and
creamy, clean lines on the South side once the snow
heats up. The snow is fast and very well set up so
we can go anywhere. Check

Still
snowing today with more on the way (view
weather).
Steamboat
recorded a new record for it's deepest, total snow
fall EVER in November with 83 inches.
We
have a 68" base at our Cabin on Buffalo Pass,
which is currently, by far the deepest snowpack in
the State, let alone the Lower 48 (see
Snotel - Tower Site)

Happy
post Thanksgiving, tryptophan induced powder alert.
Woke
up this morning and yes, it's snowing again!! Another
flow has descended into Colorado and it looks to stay
around till Sunday evening, see weather
page.
Ski
area is now open with limited runs. This snow
helps a ton. They've been blowing man made snow 24/7
for a week or so now as it's been cold.
As
of today, the snowpack on Buffalo Pass Colorado's
deepest, we are very thankful. With this new snow,
it'll only get deeper and deeper and deeper.

Monday Nov 14th

Winter
has arrived in Northern Colorado in a big way! Over
2 feet of snow has fallen over the past 72-hours and
more is forecasted
overnight. It was puking today, midwinter, inch and
hour style, so we are stoked. Several storms have
come and gone, this season but this one was the true
kickoff.
Speaking
of, have a look at this video: Intro
to '06. It'll get you pumped for the POWDER!!!
Now
it's just a waiting game until we get it on (Dec.
17!).
Everything
is current on the website. If your new to us, please
sign up for our free DVD so
you can see exactly what we do. Also, enjoy the archive
of daily images we
post from our trips. Check out our online
calendar and the Steamboat Powdercats day
in the life.
And
remember, if your planning a Steamboat trip, don't
forget about us, we'd love to spoil you rotten with
Colorado's deepest snowpack.
