Before your trip, at home or spending "quality time" at work, keep coming back here to live vicariously though the face shots and smiles from our guests and guides.

Also, review the below links from the last few years of image blog's.

April 3-5

Once our season was over, we split town and headed to the desert for some rafting and kayaking down the Ruby/Horsethief/Westwater system of canyons on the Colorado River. Nothing like a river trip to settle our souls after a great powder season.

March 30

Cold, dry powder, blue skies, family and friends and the mountains to ourselves, fresh powder all day long - what a perfect ending to our season! It's been a blast folks, but our lives don't end here.

Keep an eye on the website for updates and images from our spring, summer and fall adventures.

Keep it real and love life everyday. Image gallery - Mar 30th

March 29

We were in and out of the sun all day and it was cold again so the snow stayed light and fresh and oh so good. The gift of powder and making fresh turns allows you to realize how special life really is.

March 28

A spring storm has dropped down from heaven, making our days here in Steamboat white and fluffy again. This group out today had the terrain to themselves and fresh tracks all day.

We close on Saturday and have space the next few days so get up here!

March 21-25

Life has slowed down for here at Steamboat Powdercats with 1 or maybe 2 cats out per day. We've had a super busy season, so the less hectic days are a blessing.

We finally saw a few inches of new snow this weekend and there looks to be a storm brewing for Wed and Thurs, which would be perfect as our last day of the season is Sat. the 31st, THIS SATURDAY! (space is available!)

Check out the images here of the past few days and pray for snow!

March 22

Last nights benefit concert couldn't have gone off any better. Nearly 500 people came to see Big Head Todd and the Monsters throwdown for Genchi and the Steamboat Grand Ballroom was buzzing with positive vibes.

Click here for images of the event.

We raffled off about 225 items, including a dive trip to Cozumel (donated by Steamboat Scuba and Water Sports) and a surf vacation to Costa Rica (donated by the Witch's Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo). Lot's of people left the event with something and we generated lots of funds to help Dave and his family.

Click here to view a short movie, courtesy of TV Channel 18 and the Steamboat Pilot from the concert.

View a short video on YouTube courtesy of Andy and Craig Kennedy from Access Anything.

We'd like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Of course the band - Big Head Todd and the Monsters, the Steamboat Ski Resort and the Steamboat Grand Hotel and Conference Center, Steamboat Magazine who's online, "Photographer's for Genchi" auction raised $6,900 dollars area, John Waldman from Great Knight Productions, the Local, the Steamboat Pilot, Crown Prints for our shirts (which we have for sale), TV 17, TV 18, KFMU, KBCR, Lincoln Avenue Printers for printing posters, Steamboat Design Associates for our ad design, Corey Kopischke for his photography skills and Bruin Signs for their help with the event banner.

THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU

March

12-20

Spring has sprung for us in the Yampa Valley with warm weather and bright blue skies.

We've been getting all varieties of conditions from pure powder to corn to mush to crust. At the end of the day everyone is surprised by what the guides can find and how the conditions are better than they think.

Life is good, and a spring storm looks possible for the next few days and into our weekend!

Remember to make your final bids for the Photographers for Genchi online auction. Click here to view auction.

Please tell all your friends about the concert tomorrow night at the Steamboat Grand where Big Head Todd will be playing a benefit for Genchi. Click here to learn more!

Just an inch or so on the terrain but with the last few days being cold, overcast and snowing, today was outstanding. We skied all of our south facing slopes before the sun came out and temps picked up. 3 cats out today with a bachelor party, a crazy group of rippers and a mix of locals, repeat clients and good friends.

Mar 9

Fresh snow, about 3" new and the slate is clean. Image gallery - Mar 9

Mar 8

Another powder day in the 'Boat after a spring like storm crash into us bringing thunder and snow on and off all day. About 4" fell and our groups loved having this new layer to play in. Image gallery - Mar 8

Mar 7

Sunshine and miracles were the themes today. Image gallery - Mar 7

Mar 6

3 cats out today and no new snow again. Lots of friends out in the powder and many return guests including the folks from Saketumi, our favorite, local sushi den come to pillage the goods.

Hot days in Steamboat as high pressure is extended all across the Rocky Mountain west.

Mar 4

Another day without fresh snow and warm temps making for some nice, boot depth powder skiing. Today was an interesting day as 2 of our cats had some mechanical difficulties - OUCH! This is never what we hope for, but does happen sometimes. Image gallery - Mar 4

Mar 3

Today was our first day without snow for some time. It stayed cold so the snow was fast, light and luscious.

The Weather Channel is doing a special on EPIC WEATHER and tomorrow they will be showing their segment on EPIC POWDER. They've profiled Steamboat Springs as the location that produces such powder - go figure? Sorry folks. but the secret is out way beyond our realm now.

Feb 28

So, with 11" new on the stake today, the super dry powder returned just like that. This storm has been a wild ride with conditions changing and evolving daily as the troughs roll through.

Image gallery here for Feb 28

Feb 27

Our super dry powder went bye bye today as the wind from yesterday packed in the snowpack making skiing a bit tricky on some of the terrain. The steeper the terrain the better the skiing.

Lot's of great people out playing with us today. Thank you for visiting.

Kevo getting deep

These are the days that we live for.

Words cannot describe the vibe here at Steamboat Powdercats. The snow continues to fall, inches per hour at times, it's cold and light and dreams are now a reality for us.

5.5" new.

This day will go down in history! 24" in 24 hours on Feb 24th.

We only received an inch or two in town this morning, but as you got higher and higher into the terrain, the powder just kept getting deeper and deeper. The snow was feather like, ultra dry and we are honestly choking on it. Today was the type of day that you will flash before you as you lie on your death bed. Just absolutely epic conditions.

Image gallery here for Feb 24

Feb 23

Overcast skies brought some interesting conditions to the terrain. We had to ski mostly north facing slopes today as our southern and western exposures were hit up a bit by yesterdays warm weather. Looks like a storm will arrive this evening.

The party continues today as the temps warmed a bit.

Windy day today - over 100 mph gusts

After our deepest day of the season yesterday, today spun 180 degrees as the storm blew out, carrying 100 mph winds. Yikes! This was one of our toughest days operating in years as snowcats, snowmobiles, guides and our guests were hammered by windrifts, blown over and stuck in the shifting powder.

Feb 11

Oh the smiles.

Happy guests and guides today and there is 6.5" on the stake. We've had a long go without much snow this season, so this new found fresh is a pleasant surprise for us.

Feb 3-10

We've had a mixed bag of conditions over the past few days so we clumped the best of images into one gallery. We thank everyone who visited us during this time, between storms. Lot's of you were return guests and we appreciate you amazing smiles and the friendship you bring to our days.

Another 2" on the stake today. Big winds today packed in the snow so it wasn't as light as the past few days, but it was equally fresh.

Steamboat's Adaptive Ski camp going snowcat skiing

View these images from the Steamboat Mountain Theater - Sunday night fundraiser for Genchi.

Steamboat's Adaptive Ski Camp came for a visit today and we rocked it! This is our 3rd event with this group, and it's always one of our best days of the year. With Genchi's incident, this was an even more special day as our family of adaptive friends have become much closer to us. The powder was the perfect depth and of course, the sun came out for us today. Image link here for Jan 16 - Adaptive Day at Steamboat Powdercats.

As Colorado digs itself out of the Blizzard of 2006, we are going snowcat skiing. No guests, just the guides and the feet of snow up on Buffalo Pass - wish us luck.

Wed - Dec 20

Dumping hard in Steamboat today as the blizzard consumes Colorado. We had 1 cat out with 5 guests, our minimum, today and they were in heaven.

Tuesday Dec. 19

After a couple days of weather, an 8-12" layer of new snow was laying in wait for our guests, whom put down some nice tracks. We now have a 52" base at our cabin, typical for this time of year. A big storm is coming in tomorrow, so it just keeps pilling up.

Sat & Sun Dec 16 & 17

Life is deep again here at Steamboat Powdercats as our world of POWDER opened this weekend. With months off, we were so ready for this and Mother Nature hooked it up with snow on both days. Sunday was money and it snowed most of the day, sometimes at an inch an hour.

Only 105 days left to our season. Here's to many, many great days with fantastic snow and outstanding people - CHEERS!
