Rob Bannister – Backcountry Ski Guide

Rob has been living the dream in Steamboat since 1996.  He has been guiding with us since 2003, and still pinches himself every day that he gets to ski with his Powdercats family of guides and guests.

Originally from Connecticut, Rob grew up skiing in Vermont, studied there at the University of Vermont and Grenoble France. His love of the mountains and skiing was cemented, and Colorado beckoned with it’s large mountains and champagne powder.

Rob has two daughters, Leah and Ella, yes, of course they ski, and his wife Candice is the director of our local history museum, the Tread of Pioneers Museum. You are invited to come visit the Tread downtown Steamboat Springs!   His sister Kim has a trekking company based out of Katmandu specializing in remote regions in the Himalaya, check it out at www.kamzang.com.

In the offseason, Rob is a land surveyor (Four Points Surveying and Engineering) which keeps him in the outdoors year round.  He is an avid mountain biker, hiker and can be found most weekends camping with his family in their pop up.
