Steamboat Springs Lodging Options
There are countless lodging providers for you to choose from in the Steamboat Springs area. With approximately 3,500 rental units available it can be daunting, so where to begin? Just Google Steamboat Springs Lodging and you’ll find multiple resort companies, VRBO listings and hotel complexes all trying to lure you in.
When considering where to stay you must first understand that here in Steamboat Springs there are a few distinct locations: on the mountain (ski-in-ski-out or ski area base), mid-valley and then in downtown Steamboat Springs. Most lodging providers have complementary shuttles to get you to and from most locations. Downtown is located only 5-minute drive from the mountain so getting around is easy. There is also the Alpine Taxi that you can hire to and from any restaurants or shopping venues.
Since you are probably coming for a visit with Steamboat Powdercats, among other things, don’t sweat it as we really don’t care where you stay. During the day with us as we provide a van service to and from your lodging before and after your tour. Remember, we do want you to check in the night before with us (3-5:00pm), if at all possible, so our office is conveniently located “on the mountain” in the Clock Tower Square. This location is just north of the Gondola across the street from the Steamboat Grand and the Sheraton. We are also within walking distance of other “on mountain” lodging providers like the Torian Plum, One Steamboat Place and the Ski Time Square Condo’s. The closest location to our office are the Clock Tower Penthouses (call Ryan at Pioneer Ridge Management (888-672-6938) and tell him we sent you) at that are literally just above us in our building.
These are just a few of the dozens or so “on mountain” locations that are considered ski in and ski out, located at the base of the ski area. Of course these locations will be the most expensive as there is a premium for such quick assess to the slopes. For a complete list of all the lodging options here in Steamboat Springs, go to the Steamboat Chamber of Commerce website.
We understand that not everyone has a crazy budget and you’ll be saving and spending all your money for your days here at Steamboat Powdercats. Our favorite low budget, crash for the night, no frills but plenty adequate lodging options are The Steamboat Mountain Lodge or the Rabbit Ears Motel.
