Preparing ourselves for the upcoming season

Here in Steamboat Springs, our first snow has now come and gone. It happened on a crazy day in early September (9/8), which was accompanied by 50-100+ mph wind gusts that brought down thousands of trees in downtown, and millions of trees in the forests and surrounding area. We have yet to go up into the terrain and assess the scene, but we can only imagine some of the work needed to clear our snowcat roads. Watch video here.

Speaking of work, we have now finished our COVID-19 Operations and Mitigation plan. We launched this via email blast, and social media outlets.

Our website is now fully loaded with this information. We are currently booking trips for the upcoming winter and the calendar is now available for groups to make their reservations.

Thank you for your patience and understanding of our new protocols as we work through this season together.

How will our tours look in 2021?

Here at SPC, we strive to be the best in the industry. Our systems have been put in place so that the safety of our team is held to a higher standard. Because of this, and with COVID-19 in mind, we are going to be running only private cats this winter trips with 6 guests maximum, working with one trip leader who manages their group, payments, guest information, and responsibilities. We feel this method works best with the mitigations we are planning for this winter.

We know that this will impact many of our guests. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If anything shifts with this occupancy number in our snowcat, or the private cat only rule, we will let everyone know ASAP.

Again, for full details about this plan, pricing of our snowcats, our mitigations we will be implementing, and other details, please check out our COVID-19 Operations and Mitigation Plan.
