Due to scientific reasons we can’t quite explain, the atmosphere in the Yampa Valley was void of any particulate that typically makes things like the Flat Tops Wilderness off to the south seem blurry. Do you know why they call the Flat Tops the Flat Tops? Who cares. Today we could see as far as Mt Sopris down in Pitkin County which is over 100 miles away. Translating that into skiing on Buffalo Pass… The world was razor sharp. Like 4K HD razor sharp. What a blessing it was to see a familiar world through a new perspective.
