Tribute to Genchi

Today we give a big shout out to Dave Genchi, who worked with us from 2003 till 2006.  For our long time guests, you all remember Dave who probably took your photo while you were here and also built many of the video’s you may see on YouTube.   Today is the 5th anniversary of his life changing accident.  We’ve posted some of of his old video’s here below and wanted to post this from Dave:

“Great thanks and good vibes to all in Powdercat Nation.  All of you made it possible to keep living the dream! Love and big hugs all around. I’m always with all of you every moment. Thanks for the extra 5 years and many more to come!”

We built a page for Dave here on our website that details his days during and since the incident.

I just watched Dave’s videos for the first time. He took our picture on the first cat trip I was on with eight friends. This year I am using the free trip. Dave you are so good with the camera! You captured one of me traped in a tree well. It’s one of best photo’s showing extreme snow conditions, a helpless skier, and what a snow bound skier looks like upside down.
Best Wishes,
kevin

All I want to say is that I remember Dave as such a fun positive guy who too great pictures of me skiing. I was there for 2 years with him taking the pictures. One of the reasons I wanted to come back to Powdercats was his great contribution. I wish him and his family all the best. I have never had an injury as significant as his, but I have broke my leg since I first skied with him and he has inspired me to work hard to get back. I certainly don’t think my injury and his are comparable. I am just saying that I thought of what he has been thru and it has been a great help to me. Great that you guys are doing this. Chuck Caldwell.
